Language skills

Language and culture skills are essential parts of the Medicolink Method

The Medicolink Method works to secure the candidate's fast and smooth integration into the Danish health care system. Danish society and especially patients demand strong Danish language skills and a prior understanding of Danish society and health care culture. We pay special attention to these during the process of training.

The training usually lasts about five months but this period can be shortened or extended according to the requirements of the future job and/or the level of proficiency obtained by the candidate during the training period. For example a dentist who has extensive daily contact with patients will receive six months of training where others may be served with five.

We are aware that the family is a significant element in the success of the training and integration process. Accordingly, we also offer spouses and children Danish courses and provide free learning material for the members of the entire family. They will all be enrolled in an intensive preparatory training programme after a job contract has been signed.

To make the candidate is proficient in both spoken and written Danish we have set the following goals for the training program:

Goal 1:
The candidate must be able to cope in Danish (written and spoken) so he/she functions well both at the workplace and in his/her private life.
Goal 2:
The candidate must develop an understanding of the culture where he/she will live and work for a number of years.
Goal 3:
The candidate must be introduced to the Danish health care system through the knowledge of vocabulary, comprising procedures, mentality and institutions.
