Learning a new language
Language and culture skills are essential parts of the Medicolink Method
The Medicolink Method secures the candidate a fast and smooth integration. The society and especially patients, demand strong language skills and a prior understanding of the society and health care culture. We pay special attention to these during the process of training.
The training usually lasts approcimately five months. This period can be shortened or extended according to the requirements of the future job and/or the level of proficiency obtained by the candidate during the training period. For example a dentist who has extensive daily contact with patients will receive six months of training where others may be served with five.
We are aware that the family is a significant element in the success of the training and integration process. Accordingly, we also offer spouses and children language courses and provide free learning material for the members of the family.
In this video Tue Sand Larsen, Partner in Medicolink, explains about the language-training program in Medicolink.
To make sure the candidate is proficient in both oral and in writing to the level where the candidate is able to participate and contribute both in everyday and professional life, we have set the following goals for the training programme:
Goal 1:
The candidate must be able to cope with the new language (both written and spoken) so he/she functions well both at the workplace and in his/her private life.
Goal 2:
The candidate must develop an understanding of the culture where he/she will live and work for a number of years.
Goal 3:
The candidate must be introduced to the health care system through the knowledge of vocabulary, comprising procedures, mentality and institutions.
