We realize that a sense of comfort and security is required to help the whole family adapt to their new life in the new country. We also realise that the easiest way to adapt is when the whole family is learning Danish. We recognise that not every family is the same and even within a family unit there might be different needs and different ways of learning.
This is why we have set up numerous courses that spefically target the individual needs of each family. For example, it is possible to customise the content of the language and cultural courses in order to target the needs of families with children. This is achieved by taking advantage of computers and the Internet. We have set up digital courses under netdansk.asb.dk (developed by Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus) which was developed to help older children master Danish by allowing them (and you) to learn and play with the language online.
Please note, however, that the family program is not a full program but an introductory course to Danish, although it is a great way to meet other families moving to Denmark.

Quality learning and teaching is the foundation
Even though we have embraced technology, we know that the foundation of language learning will be laid during the courses. So we have structured our learning modules to include not just reading and writing material but also cases representing real-life situations, audio and video samples from radio and TV as well as real-life language training.
The real-life language training may take place during our many social events when all our candidates and their families are invited along with people from the local community as well as the Danish co-workers and their families. It is in these types of situations where family integration and language learning truly take place.
